I visited Kensington Palace on my very first day in London – it was an easy walk from my hotel near Bayswater Tube station. I loved the richly decorated interiors of King’s and Queen’s chambers (European architecture is something I haven’t had the chance to enjoy for quite a few years, living and travelling between North America and Asia, so seeing all this was very refreshing).
Queen Victoria’s exhibit was interesting, as well as Princess Diana’s fashion display. I explored everything inside at a leisurely pace and then headed to the lovely Sunken Garden near the palace – it was beautiful in the late afternoon sun. I think I spent about 3 hour at Kensington.
