Japan 2016

Three weeks in Japan, end of October – beginning of November, 2016.

I spent most of my time on Kyushu, with a few short stops/trips in Kansai and Kanto regions.

Honshu Island

I arrived in Tokyo and stayed for one night before heading out to Nikko to see fall colors. Rented a car in Nikko (my first time renting a car and driving in Japan) and spent 3 days/2 nights there. Then went back to Tokyo, hopped on a shinkansen to Kobe, stayed for 1 night in Arima before continuing to Fukuoka.

Kyushu Island

Exploring Kyushu by public transit and rental car.

This time I focused on northern and central part of the island (Takachiho was my southernmost destination) and saw many new things in Saga, Fukuoka, Oita and Kumamoto prefectures.

Honshu Island

On my way back to Tokyo I made a one night stop in Osaka and used it as a base to see some new Kyoto sites.
