Standing 731 meters high on the east side of Orcas Island, Mount Constitution is the highest point of all San Juan islands, offering panoramic views. What I like the most about this place is that you can drive up to it, no hiking needed whatsoever. Just drive up the road, get out of the car – and all the beauty of this land and sea is yours. Now, there is, of course the tower – an observation tower modeled after a Russian (why on earth?) medieval tower they built in the mountains of Caucasus (of all places), that you will need to climb to get the 360 degrees view. It’s a bit of a workout, but worth it. I also enjoyed learning about the Civilian Conservation Corps and all the work they did in this area from the informative displays inside.
I visited Mount Constitution as part of my 4 days 3 nights San Juan Islands trip.

Mount Constitution is part of Moran State Park, so Discovery pass is required.
