I didn’t even know this place existed until I saw someone’s post on a local Facebook page showing a photo of a beautiful suspension bridge shot from a nearby beach, asking “what is this place” 😊 So I remembered the name and made a mental note to stop by next time I find myself in the vicinity of Tacoma.
The opportunity came up pretty quickly – I got tired of staying home and went on a drive around Olympic peninsula, starting from Ocean Shores and moving clockwise, and Tacoma Narrows Park was my very last stop on this loop.
The park is easy to get to from the north and easy to find. Parking lot is rather small, but visiting during the week I found myself a spot with no problem. The view from the beach is perfect – I realized there isn’t many bridges of this kind in Washington state. It reminded me of Japan (where the sight of a suspension bridge going over the narrows is very common), and I felt nostalgic.
Would love to come here at sunset sometime.
